Every signal, heard.

Terms for Special Kids and School Edition

Last updated: 16 October 2026

These terms apply when you use EI Signal Stories for Special Kids (for families) or the School Edition (for schools). They are offered by EI4AI Signal Systems LLP (“we”, “us”). We have written them in plain words.

Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which says what we keep about a child or a student, who can see it and what reaches an AI provider (section 11 for families, section 12 for schools). For the story library and Create, our general Terms of Service apply instead.

In short

  1. It is a practice tool for everyday routines. It is not therapy, medical advice or diagnosis, and not for emergencies.
  2. An adult stays close for every practice, and can stop at any time.
  3. The report shows patterns, not causes. You decide what to do with them.
  4. Photos you take and voice recordings are kept only with your OK, are never sent to an AI provider, and you can remove them at any time.
  5. Nothing is shared with a school or a therapist unless you choose to.

Part A — For everyone

A1. What it is

Everyday moments (a haircut, morning assembly, the school gate) are shown in small picture steps. At each step an adult records the child’s signal (Calm, Okay, Worried or Upset) and what helped. Over time, the report shows which step is hard and what helps, so the child can do more on their own.

A2. What it is not

  • It is an assistive tool. It is not therapy, and it does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice.
  • It does not replace a doctor, a therapist or a special educator. Please keep following their advice.
  • It is not for emergencies. If a child is unwell or in danger, call your local emergency number (112 in India, 000 in Australia) or a doctor.

A3. An adult stays close

An adult stays close for every practice, including Kid mode. If a practice becomes too much, stop. Help the child feel safe in the way that works for them (space, quiet, a favourite thing) before anything else; the practice can wait. The adults who know the child best lead; the app follows.

A4. Patterns, not causes

The report shows what tends to come together: for example, a step that is often hard, or a day that went better after a calm breakfast. A pattern appears only after enough practice, and it does not mean one thing caused the other. Please do not use the report to diagnose, or to change medicine or diet. Talk to the child’s doctor or therapist about that.

A5. Pictures and suggestions made by AI

  • The pictures are drawn by an AI (Google Gemini) and are designed to show no faces. AI can still get things wrong or draw something odd. Please look at a picture before you show it to the child, and tell us at support@ei4aisignals.com if one is wrong.
  • Suggestions from AI, such as scene names or a changed Life skills lesson, are drafts. Nothing is used until an adult chooses it.

Part B — For parents and carers

B1. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and the child’s parent or legal guardian. When you add a child, you confirm this. A child does not have an account of their own. You can add up to 2 children to one account. A carer, such as a grandparent, may use the app with the parent’s or guardian’s permission; the account stays with the parent or guardian.

B2. Kid mode

In Kid mode you hand your phone or tablet to your child, a voice reads each step, and your child taps their own signal. Stay nearby while they do. What your child taps is kept apart from what you record, and it does not change the findings in the report.

B3. Your photos and your voice

  • Photos and voice recordings are kept only after you agree, for that child, to the wording shown in the app. We record the date and the wording you agreed to.
  • Take photos of real places. Please leave out other people’s faces, house numbers, school names or uniforms, and number plates.
  • Photos are re-saved on our server, which removes the phone’s location and other hidden details. A voice recording is up to 15 seconds.
  • They are never sent to an AI provider, never shared with a school or a therapist, and never used for marketing. You can remove each one, or withdraw your OK, at any time.

B4. Sharing with a therapist

You can make a read-only link to one child’s dashboard and report. It opens only with a 6-digit code that you send separately, it ends after 7, 30 or 90 days, and you can switch it off at any time. Your typed notes are left out unless you tick them; photos and voice recordings are never included. You choose who receives it, and they must keep it private. We record when the link was opened.

B5. Linking with your child's school

Only if you and the school both agree. The school gives you a one-time code. Once linked, the practice and signals from home and from school are shared both ways; events, food and sleep, and your typed notes are shared only if you tick them. Photos and voice recordings are never shared. You or the school can end the link at any time, and both of you are told by email.

B6. Shared by parents

If you choose, you can share what worked for an activity with other families. The card is built only from counts and our preset words: no names, notes, dates or signal words. We check every card before it is shown, and you can withdraw it at any time. By sharing, you let us show that card to other families in the app.

B7. Free and paid plans

  • What the free plan and the paid plan include is on the Special Kids plans page.
  • Subscriptions are not open yet, so there is nothing to pay now. When they open, the payment, cancellation and refund rules in section 8 of our Terms of Service apply.
  • A trial from a code or an invite ends on its own date and returns you to the free plan. There is nothing to cancel.
  • When paid access ends, your child’s own pictures are hidden for 30 days (they come back if paid access starts again in that time), then deleted. Your practice records stay.

B8. Deleting your child's data

Want your child’s data deleted, or your whole account? Email support@ei4aisignals.com from the email you sign in with, and we will do it for you and tell you when it is done. There is no delete button in the app yet. Our Privacy Policy (11.5 and 11.6) lists exactly what is deleted.

Part C — For schools

For principals, class teachers and special educators using the School Edition. What the school records, and what reaches an AI provider, is in section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

C1. Agreeing for the school

By accepting a school invite, you confirm that you may act for your school, and the school agrees to these terms. If your school has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement comes first where the two differ.

C2. Who sees what

  • The principal and the school admin see the whole school. A class teacher sees only their own classes.
  • A school admin can add staff in any role; a principal can add class teachers.
  • Special educators are added as class teachers for the classes they work with.
  • Keep your sign-in to yourself, and turn off a person’s access on their last day at the school.

C3. The school decides about its students' data

The school decides what is recorded about its students and why; we hold it for the school, on its instructions. The school is responsible for having the permissions it needs from parents and carers, under the law that applies to it. The app records the school’s own reference for its consent paperwork, never the document itself.

C4. Students are recorded by first name

Students are added with a first name, the school’s own reference and a year group. The app does not accept a surname, a date of birth or a photograph. If pictures in a student’s own look are switched on, staff choose a look for the drawings (for example skin and hair); this is not recorded as the student’s gender.

C5. Photos and pictures in a student's own look

  • School photos are of places only, such as the hall or the bus bay. Staff tick “No children are in this photo” before every upload.
  • Pictures in a student’s own look are drawings, never photos. They are available only where we have switched them on for the school, and only after staff have seen the parent’s or carer’s OK on the school’s consent form and recorded it in the app. If that OK is withdrawn, the pictures are deleted at once.

C6. Pilots and trials

  • A pilot runs for 14, 30 or 60 days, and we may extend it.
  • At the end, the school moves to the Basic package: simple pictures, no new drawings. Staff can still sign in, and the school’s records stay.
  • Pictures in students’ own look are hidden for 30 days, then deleted, unless the pilot is extended or made permanent in that time.
  • The demo school uses invented students only.

C7. Activity log, export and deletion

  • Staff actions on students’ data (for example adding a student, viewing a report or exporting) are written to the school’s own activity log. The app gives no way to change it.
  • The principal or the school admin can export the school’s data at any time.
  • When the school asks us to, we delete its records. Please export first if you want to keep a copy.

C8. Safeguarding

  • The app is not a way to report a concern about a child’s safety. If you are worried about a student’s safety, follow your school’s child-protection procedure and the law that applies to you.
  • Do not record safeguarding concerns in the app’s notes.
  • When a student leaves the school, remove them from the roll; pictures in their own look are deleted at once.

Part D — For everyone, the rest

D1. Please don't

  • use the app to label, shame or punish a child. Words in the app describe the moment, never the child.
  • add a child or a student you are not responsible for, or put a child’s name in an activity or scene name (the app refuses these).
  • upload anything harmful, or anything you do not have the right to share.
  • share a sign-in, a school code or a therapist link code with someone who should not have it, or try to get round our security.
  • copy or sell our activities and pictures outside the app.

D2. What is yours, and what is ours

Your records, notes, photos and recordings stay yours. You let us store and use them only to run the app for you, as our Privacy Policy describes. The activities, pictures, words and design of the app are ours; you may use them for your own child or for your class.

D3. A young service

The app is in Beta. Features may change, and the app may sometimes be unavailable. We will tell you before we take away something you have paid for.

D4. Our responsibility

We work hard to make the app safe and accurate, but it is provided as it is, without promises that it will suit every child or never be wrong. Decisions about a child’s care, school or health stay with the adults responsible for that child. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using the app. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law of your country gives you.

D5. Ending

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account (see B8, or C7 for a school). We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts a child at risk.

D6. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we change the date at the top. If a change affects your child’s or your students’ data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.

D7. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, have jurisdiction. If you live in another country, you keep the protections its law gives you.

D8. Questions and complaints

Write to support@ei4aisignals.com. For a complaint about a child’s or a student’s data, we reply within 30 days. EI4AI Signal Systems LLP (ACU-8583), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, 600 064.
