Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EI Signal Stories ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

EI Signal Stories is an AI-powered creative-retelling platform built around two doors:

  • I Learn (Student) — readers browse our published Library and EI World seasons (e.g., CBSE chapters narrated as story episodes, research papers retold as stories).
  • I Create (Creator) — anyone can submit source material (text, PDF, URL, paper ID, DOI) and receive an AI-generated retelling tailored to a chosen audience and length.

Stories generated by the Service are creative retellings designed to make ideas imaginable and memorable. They are not reproductions, translations, summaries of record, or substitutes for the original source material. Where a story is based on a third-party work, the original author and source retain all rights to that work.

Plan availability, feature inclusions, and pricing are described on the Pricing page and may change from time to time. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price increase applies to existing subscribers.

3. User Accounts

  • You must authenticate using a valid Google or Microsoft account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must not share your account credentials or API keys with others
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service

4. AI-Generated Content

When using our AI story generation features (text, illustrations, and any narrated or animated outputs):

  • Stories, scene illustrations, key-insight cards, and any animated outputs are generated by AI and should be reviewed before publication or sharing
  • AI-generated content — including images and video — may not be fully accurate, complete, or free of errors
  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all generated content before use
  • Generated stories must not be presented as the original author's own words or as direct quotations from the source material — they are creative retellings, not reproductions
  • When sharing or publishing a generated story, you must credit the original source text and its author(s)
  • Generated images and animated outputs may not be used to create deepfakes, impersonate real individuals, or produce misleading media
  • Plan-specific allowances (story counts, image inclusions, narrated/animated outputs, priority generation) are described on the Pricing page. We may adjust quotas based on service capacity and cost, with reasonable notice
  • We are not liable for any issues arising from use of AI-generated content

Educators and classroom use. Teachers, tutors, schools, and other educators may share generated stories with students under their supervision as supplementary learning material. You remain responsible for verifying factual accuracy against primary sources (textbook, NCERT chapter, paper, etc.) before classroom use. Generated stories are supplements — not substitutes — for required textbooks or primary instruction.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or rate limits
  • Generate content that is harmful, abusive, or discriminatory
  • Use the Service to generate misinformation or fake research
  • Resell or redistribute generated content commercially without attribution

6. Content Ownership & Authorship

  • Your input is yours. You retain full ownership of the source material you submit. We do not claim ownership, authorship, or any other right to your input beyond what is needed to generate the story you requested.
  • Original works belong to their authors. Where a story is generated from a third-party work (a paper, book, article, textbook chapter, etc.), the original author and rights holder retain full ownership of that work. We do not claim authorship of the original.
  • Generated stories are derivative creative retellings. They are produced by AI as a new expression intended to aid imagination and understanding — not as a copy or substitute for the source. You may use, share, and adapt them provided you comply with Section 7 (Copyright & Attribution).
  • You own the generated output. ei4aisignals.com does not claim ownership of stories generated for you. When the source material you submitted is your own (or under an open / permissive licence), you may use the generated story commercially — sell, publish, embed in courses, share publicly — provided you continue to credit any third-party sources referenced within. When the source material is a third party's copyrighted work, commercial reproduction requires that third party's permission (see Section 7).
  • You grant EI Signal Stories a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your submitted content solely for the purpose of generating your story and operating the Service. We may also use anonymised, aggregated metadata about generations (e.g., genre distributions, quality metrics) to improve the Service.
  • You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit the content you provide (e.g., you own it, you have permission, or it is publicly available under an open licence). You are responsible for the source material you submit.
  • AI training and model improvement. We use third-party AI APIs (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI) to generate stories. These providers operate under their own API terms, which do not include API-submitted content in their model training. We may use anonymised, aggregated metadata and curated story outputs to improve our own systems and to train future models that we develop. We do not use personally identifying information, child-profile data, or verbatim user-submitted source text in our training data.

7. Copyright & Attribution

EI Signal Stories operates on a transformative-use model. Generated stories are creative retellings — they reframe, simplify, and narrate ideas through a creative lens to spark imagination and understanding. They are not verbatim reproductions of the original text and must not be presented as such. This transformation is consistent with fair-use principles recognised in many jurisdictions, but you remain responsible for the source material you submit and how you share the output.

Your responsibilities when sharing generated stories:

  • Credit the original author(s) and source — always cite the original paper, document, or text that was used to generate the story. Example: “Story inspired by [Author Name], [Title], [Year/Source]”
  • Label it as an AI-generated retelling — make clear that the story is a creative reinterpretation, not the author's own words or a direct extract
  • Do not present it as original research — generated stories must not be cited as primary sources in academic, legal, or scientific contexts
  • No commercial reproduction without permission — you may not sell or commercially republish a generated story that is based on copyrighted third-party content without explicit permission from the original rights holder
  • Respect the moral rights of original authors — do not attribute false statements or conclusions to them through generated content

EI Signal Stories is not responsible for any copyright disputes arising from content you submit or stories you share.

Copyright takedown procedure

If you believe a generated story infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@ei4aibooks.com containing:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
  2. URL or identifying details of the allegedly infringing story
  3. Your contact information (name, email, address)
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or law
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on the rights holder's behalf

8. Subscription and Payments

  • Current plans, prices, billing periods, and feature inclusions are listed on the Pricing page — that page is the source of truth, not this document
  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected during checkout
  • Payments are processed securely through trusted payment gateways
  • For Indian customers, prices shown are inclusive of applicable GST. Taxes for other jurisdictions are calculated at checkout where applicable
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which you will not be charged again

  • A free preview is available without payment — try the Service before subscribing
  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that generated stories will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. AI-generated content should be reviewed before publication.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EI Signal Stories shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
